Little Things.

As I want to focus more on my studies in order to get best results, I had to resign from my part time job. Though I know it's such a shame to let it go, regarding the experience and new skills that I could gain, but I think I haven't been able to . . . divide my time, you know. I just think my studies is my priority right now.

Oh well, moving on . . . I just love to see this small little website, Just Little Things. And these are some of my favorite little things that I appreciate in life. Believe me, there are heaps more in my special folder on the desktop of my babymac *teehee*

Morning Glory.

Had an amazing 'evening-till-night' time with Boggie, and he took me to a nice & homy coffee place in Plaza Senayan (well, technically it's on the basement level of the office tower beside the mall) called "Morning Glory".

I reaaaaallly loved the place. Seriously. The place feels so "Apple", where the waiters jotted down the orders on an iDevice (I didn't get the chance to look, perhaps it was an iPod touch - or something), oh and there are free iMacs to be used on the spot - which is pretty cool, for a coffee shop. In Jakarta. Don't you think? Or am I just exaggerating this? Ha, ha. Oh well. . . Exposed ceiling, wooden walls, concrete floors. Great ambiance and a small yet cozy hide-out place. Should really try!

Had some late dinner afterwards and finished the day at Starbucks around the downtown. Ha ha! Oh, and yes, he brought so many lumpia (spring rolls), literally flown in from Semarang, for me and the whole family *teehee*

Wishing you all a great weekend ahead!

Beta Cinta Indonesia.

I'm telling you . . . seriously, the weeks were getting pretty . . . packed. Can you imagine that it's the end of October, and a new brand new year is just around the corner? My oh my, surely time flies so fast.

Well, anyways . . . Last week's highlight was when I watched Guruh Sukarno Putra's performance which was called "Beta Cinta Indonesia" - it highlights memorable and hits songs that were really popular at the time when my mom was about my age! Ha, ha! So, it was like . . . 3 decades-ish ago, sort of. My mom always share her knowledge and experience about living in the country, back in the olden days. And I've been always a fan of listening to her kind of music back then. Not only internationally, but locally as well. And Guruh SP is one of my favorites, as well as hers.

As you all know, being the child of the nation's first president really motivated him as an artist to produce and write great songs as well dance moves to be somewhat a 'tool' of Independence. Not to mention about his passion of the nation, of course. I really love how he use high standard words of Indonesian language.

Being the country's next generation, it really motivated me. To . . . care about the country. To . . . open my eyes a little more on what's going on in this nation. To . . . simply change the country into a better place, a better home.

Though I wish I had the courage to take more pictures on each scenes. Ha, ha. But my favorite was when Tompi sung the song "Nostalgia (Hotel des Indes)" with his touch of jazzy bits, of course. Kinarya GSP dancers were magnificent as usual as well. The whole show was surely encouraging!

The A Team.

A current favorite that I constantly repeat in the iTunes. I love Ed Sheeran's accent.

Gadgety.

So . . . The week starts by a half-day of working and will finish the day in Professional Practice class later on. As I'm pointed to get some stairs inspiration for the on-going restaurant project, as usual I split my mind into two. One is for the current work, and the other is for . . . anything else that is not work-related. Ha.

Oh well, as I'm currently drooling over my iPhone with its iOS 5, I get easily astonished by whatever designs that are related to them. And these are just a few samples that I found . . .

Fully-functional, stationary iPhone dock with working handset and complete compatibility with USB cable (found here)

Solar charger for iPhone (found here)

Well anyways, have a great Monday and enjoy the week!

Last for the Week.

As usual . . . I've been very busy and didn't have the urge to post a blog in these past few days of the week. I'm currently enjoying myself in designing my own Portfolio and everything related to it, but the not-so-fun part is to re-do or re-draw some of the things that are needed to change. But oh well . . .

Oh! Changed the babymac into OS X Lion. Yay! iCloud and all of that, it's pretty cool! Cable-less syncing method to the iPhone with its new iOS 5! I feel so hi-tech nowadays! Ha, ha!

Oh! If you have the chance, AND if you're interested, take a peek on my Instagram! I've been addicted to post architecture-related photos on the feed! Just so you know. . . Ha, ha!

Nine, Ten, Eleven.

Had a wedding to attend and a friend was giving birth. 9.10.11 was surely a good day. Weddings and babies make me happy. Somehow.

Being colorful is really cheery, inside and out! But these 12cm Biyan heels were killing me. Slowly.

A Pack-full of Sweets.

The day spent with a long girl-talk with Vanessa at Canteen. Quite a long time since our last date in the place. She was the one who told me to grab a lunch and have a looooonngggg chit-chat, and I was kinda worried when she was suddenly became quiet when we had a chat on BBM. Yes, I was afraid that she would bail on me. But then, the truth unveils itself. She slept until 1 or 2 pm.

A late lunch/dessert time it was. She gave me a pack where she called as a 'sorry-package'. It's because she was afraid that I would be mad or something, for keeping me waiting for so long. Ha, ha!

And so . . . the date was ended when her boyfriend came. That was the time that I had to . . . let the lovebirds fly. . . . Ha, ha! What a day it was. A 10k of parking fee surely pays off!

Clogs Crave.

So, okay. I'm back. Did a little revision of my office project and some little ideas jotted down on the Illustrator, for the name card that should represent ourselves. Ha! Yes, it's a part of my Portfolio Design class. And of course, it is fun. I repeat, it. . . is. . . FUN!

Anyways, I've been thinking about . . . the fact that I haven't been shopping much. It's kind of unusual to see myself without having the urge to buy something. Though there were lots of tempts that were caused by the eyes, but I just haven't got the . . . mood, to buy them. I've been saving money for the future, ha ha! Every extras that I got, I straightly save them. And of course, a minimum of 10% goes to GOD first. Yes. I know. It's not what a girl my age would do. You know. Saving money, for the future, yadda yadda yadda. But yes of course, we need to cheer ourselves up. Enjoy what we deserve, you know. . .

And so . . . I've been flicking through the web. And got stuck to one of my favorite online shops, locally. In my opinion, Kloom has the best clogs in the country. Design wise, and price wise. I'm glad that Indonesia has their own Swedish Hasbeens! Ha ha!

These are their premium collection, which I think are uh-may-zing! I could simply spot my own country in these designs.

Now . . . which one should I choose to be the third Kloom of mine . . .

Inspiring Ideas.

I'm currently home-alone right now and I'm locking myself in the room. I need my me-time. Haven't been doing much for the day. Due to yesterday's Portfolio class, I'm still psyched up till now and still looking for ideas and inspirations for the portfolio. Well, a portfolio really should represents you. It should reflects who you are as a designer, in my case.

And these are just some of the ideas that I found interesting and inspiring. And are 'so-me'. Ha, ha.

Can't Think of a Catchy Title.

The first week of the new month went so smooth as a baby's bottom! Ha, ha! Half day of work went pretty calm, cause I just had to help to develop and think deep of a concept for a restaurant that I'm working. While I was flicking through the web to find some inspiring reference pictures, my mind split into . . . well, three actually. First it was for the concept, second was for my portfolio design, and the third was for some hair & make-up ideas - since I'll be attending a wedding later this week.

Anyways, I can't wait till I design my own portfolio. Seriously. I want to work and design in the graphic world as well. Yes, I also have a . . . 'thing' in the world of graphic design. One of my cool lecturer once said, "When you enter the design world, you can easily relate to other 'design field' other than your own design scope." Well, I might second that motion.

And of course for now, since I'm an 'interior design' student, I guess I should stick to my area first . . . and I guess I should see where time will take me. Yes, I have a plenty of interests and dreams that I'd like to do in the future, but I should take all of those in my prayers and just enjoy what I do right now.

Batik Day.

2nd of October is the National Batik Day, and so I've decided to wear this batik skirt of mine which haven't been worn since . . . months. I wear batik every time I want, not just on a special occasion like today. Anyways, paired the skirt with the lovely Stella Plum from UP shoes. Yay!

Will start the new term of my studies tomorrow. And yes, I'm still part-timing at the studio. Will surely need a great massage every once a week, I guess. Ha! Today surely was a a nice day to end the week.

Enjoy your October!
