Suedes & Feathers.

So, the day spent at home. Lingering at the house and got accompanied with klepons and feathers. Yep, I don't really quite know what's the connection with traditional bites with feathers. Oh well.

And yes, at last my pair of Oxford Weekend from SUEDEHEAD Shoes finally is in my hands. Got a compliment copy of The Porno's Subliminal CD.

One Day.

Yesterday was a long day. Hadn't got the chance to update the blog. Spent half of the day with a friend of mine since kindergarten, Lizzie-O!

After the unsuccessful macaroons-hunting in Senayan City, we then decided to go to Pondok Indah Mall, where we had our sushis, and stayed stayed long enough there. I almost bought things from (X)S.M.L (read: 50% discount!) but then I had the courage so say NO to buy stuff. Found out that there's a new Auntie Anne's outlet in PIM and was very ecstatic about it! OMG! I've been craving them since.... the last time I had a post about it. And oh, met Boggie and his wonderful family and chatted for a while with his mommy & daddy, hehehe :D

Had a chance to had a cozy moment at The Tree House that is located in Kemang. The small place makes it even more cozy with the outdoor patio on the 3rd floor where you can chill out while the breeze of the wind soaks your skin. They serve finger foods as well as big meals. Drinks are very affordable and so tasty. Aaaahhh... this is my new hideout. Check their Facebook page or even their Twitter account where they post interesting pics!

And I just love how they do their name cards. They're all different because of the handwritten random facts about the art cafe itself. P.S. - the workers and the owner are very friendly :D

Anyways, I've been told that my baby cousin, Mikaela, had to stay in the hospital because of her dengue fever and pre-typhus. And so, decided to stayed a bit in Kemang Village's Starbucks, and bought her a little something-something from bookstore next door, Times. I know that you'll be a-okay no time, mini Mikaela.

Please do help her through prayers, cause she is still little and I care for her so much. She's somehow I call my baby sister, I love her. And thank you for those of you who wishes her well, my friends, even my brother's friends way in Manchester. Much love.

Shoe-addict.

As a shoe fetish, I really can't get away of NOT buying alluring shoes that caught my attention. I don't know why. Perhaps because of the fact that I'm a shoe fetish since I was little due to mommy always fashioned me with the hippest shoes at the time. I even have a pair for my room, haha.

I found an interesting study on the net via my Blackberry, about "Why do most women are obsessed with shoes?". Well, it surely caught my attention and I want to share a bit on what the article tells.

  • Women tend to buy, on the average, 3 pair of new shoes yearly.
  • 39% of women prefers flat shoes rather than high heels.
  • 33% spend more than US$100 for one pair.
  • Only 25% of women who actually wear heels more than 4 inches.
  • 61% matches the color and type of shoes with their handbags.
  • 19% of women buy shoes to cheer themselves.
  • 29% buy shoes online.
  • 51% of women wanted to make other people envy of what they're wearing.
  • 28% feel that buying shoes is the same as they buy new clothes.

Well, those are just the summary that the articles made. It stated that the study was from a survey that allocated 1000 women by the ShopSmart magazine in the States. Well, the ones that are bold and violet-colored are the ones that I think I do this too. OMG.
I just hope that I cut down my shoe-shopping for the year.

Pampered.

Woke up late, had a quick breakfast toast, then off to Segar Sehat, a massage place where mommy and I always go to have a full body treatment of lulur and aromatherapy massage. Today, it's all about pampering myself.

Lulur is a traditional Indonesian scrub, well, I think it originates from the Javanese tribe. But then as time goes by, the Balinese invented their own traditional lulur Bali. Oh well, I don't know about that and I'm just guessing my own mind about all of this so don't get too serious about it.

Anyways, after an almost 2-hours long of the treatment, decided to grab a lunch at Mie Boy. It's been a well-known noodle place back in the 80s, and mommy always went there back when my brother was still in her womb. Since then, she always brings her children to taste the delicious chicken noodle there. Nyahaha.

Oh, to sum it all up, went to have a nice blow-dry session at Kumarii. Another beauty salon that we like to go. Forty-thousand Rupiah worth of a blow-dry. Whether you have long or short hair, and in any styles you wish. It's very affordable, and they've just renovated the place. I love the birdcages for their lighting. I wished I took some pics of the salon, but we were in a hurry. Oh well, goodbye oily hair.

OH! Fyi, French women love to have a little bit of oil in their hair. They think that it's sexy. Well for me, I don't like my hair to be so flat and shiny. Well, I don't know if that statement is true or not, I've read it somewhere on the net or in a magazine. Oh well, just sayin....

Customized Cork.

I needed a calendar somewhere in the room. It's bugging me to NOT having a single tangible calendar in the room. Electronic calendars somewhat aren't working for me. I need to.... decorate my calendar, you know. To put CAPITAL LETTERS WITH RED MARKERS for important things, and perhaps other colors, like blue or green, to write some reminders. Well, that's just me.

Anyways, I guess it's a waste to buy a calendar right at this time of the year. First, it's a waste of money. Second, most cheap calendars have cheesy designs which I don't like it. Third, well... why don't I just make it? There are tons of unused papers around the house, and also from my supplies. Therefore, it links to the fourth one... Challenge our creativity brain. Ha!

And so.... decided to customized the cork board. Cause before, it was too tacky with all those 'inspirational words' and some vintage printing designs, plus a color wheel. Like... What the? There's no, connection you know. Oh well.....

And yes, I'm in love to write letters in this kind of style, the one that I wrote for the "APRIL", haha. And let's just hope this doesn't end. Let's just hope this customized calendar board is still going on until December (8 more times doing the months AND 8 x 30 (or even 31) small boxes for the dates). Wish me luck.

Oh yeah, had to do something, again, for the wall. I don't know, it's just that I like my wall to be filled with memories. And stuff like that. Ha.

My cousin's graduation project at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. I was helping him, and my name was on the last page on the booklet on the "Many Thanks To..." column. Yes, I may say I AM PROUD. Like, hello? Being known as the cousin of the coolest guy in the graphic design dept. by the GRA peeps? It's so awesome you know. HA, HA! Check his site, here!

Good night.

The Kooples.

Flicked through the UK Elle April's edition, and got stuck to a very cute and edgy ad. Ceyln & Bjoern. Couples for 4 years.

If I may say, I'm a very peculiar person. When I see things that interest me, I'd go straight and find deeper information about it. And this time, I'm spending my Saturday night in front of the computer and looking through the net about The Kooples.

The Kooples have an interesting point of view. They design clothes inspired by the codes of rock, from music, but with its own signature traits that only truly belong in 2011. All so dandy and so British. I love their chic and clean cuts in their masculine and feminine features. I just love how the UK preps them up.

And these looks.... I just love them. They are so me. Hihihi.

All images are from The Kooples official website.

Flashes.

I really need a new camera. Semi-pros like a Canon G12 and Nikon CoolPix P7000 were my first loves. But then, yesterday I went into a camera shop and found another love. Olympus XZ-1.

It's user friendly enough, and I think it's enough for me. The prices of those camera I love are similar. I'll just have to wait until the end of the month. Oh wait. It's only a few blocks away. Yay! Can't wait.

Aqua Salmon.

Current colors. And now I'm craving for a grilled salmon.

Joyful, Joyful!

Greetings universe!

As you all know I haven't been updating my blog constantly and you could blame the assignments which I had to deal with if you missed me writing posts, haha.

Had the final presentation for my Design Studio class today and it went alright. Better than alright, it was great and satisfying. And I must say I'm proud of myself. I'm not trying to brag here, but it's such a great feeling, you know...when you finally accomplished EVERYTHING you did for the past 6 weeks. Better yet, it came out the way you wanted to, and you got pretty much positive feedbacks. You'd feel that the time you wasted, were all payed off (so it's not a waste after all....)

I've learned that, in my case, sparing more of my time to actually do my work (and really poured my whole heart into it), gave me somewhat a special satisfaction in the end. It brings a perfect outcome. In everything you do in this world, without somehow a sacrifice, it wouldn't turn out perfect. You have to pay something, to get something. Right?

Anyways, enough with all these 'work-related' stuff. I did a little material shopping just after the presentation. The purpose was only to buy some drawings papers for my own supply.... But.... I guess art supplies shops and I are ALWAYS best friends, it's very hard to NOT buy other things. And so..... decided to bought some new brushes and a palette - which amazingly was very cheap, haha!

Therefore, plans for the week-off:
  1. Sleep, of course. Lazying my butt off.
  2. Oh, this reminds me. I HAVE TO GO GYM-ING!
  3. Make some stuff from these art supplies and leftovers I've got at home. (I was thinking.... Tassels. Hm... Charm bracelets with batik-tassels? Hm... We'll see).
  4. WATERCOLOR-ING TIME!!!!
  5. Catch-up with my friends.

Oh, had a creambath session today. I always love when my hair bounces and smells so good. Happy happy, joy joy! Don't forget to smile in every situation! I'll talk to you soon!

Hippied.

Had the urge to make a feather earring. I feel so hippie today. And somewhere in between, there's Steven Tyler got involved in this matter.

Braids & Crops.

Anyways, I really have to get going with my work. There are still TONS to do. Oh my Lord, I know You'll help me by giving me extra strength and creativity to do them all. But just a small share.

In attending special occasions, I've never had this kind of hair-do before, like into a bun like this type, or 'sanggul' in Indonesian. Ha.

Mommy asked me to NOT open the bun, and so I did. I did what I was asked. It was pretty hard and tired to actually sleep with a hair-do like that. Bought a new little red bling to fill in the current collection.

And actually I like my current hair. Natural curls because of the braids. Teehee. Anyways, I'll talk to yous soon. I really need to get going on with the assignments. Laters.

Miss Selfridge printed crop blouse, a batik tulis I found in Uti's closet, Marc by Marc Jacobs nude patent leather chunky heels, an (X) S.M.L ring, and a tenun ikat obi.

Last Night.

As usual, I had a busy week. Less time to blog, cause there are loads of works to do. Work, work, work. Anyways, attended one of my cousin's wedding last night. Since he was my cousin from my daddy's side, most of the people who attended are Torajans. And to be honest, I don't know three-quarts of the people in the place, ha-ha.

I was brought up in a Javanese way, and so I didn't quite know well about Toraja and its...what-it-is ness. Rawon is still the winner out of all the Torajan food I've tried. Well, make it out of all. Period.

Auntie Kezzy with her lovely nieces (HAHA)
Yes, I think Inesh is my oldest niece hihihi. Check out her blog here!
